Our Events
The SWINT Board works with many local individuals and organizations to host events year-round on the Wabash Trace. If you are interested in holding an event on the trail, whether a 5k, fun-run, bike ride, or anything else you can dream up, please contact us. While the trail is open to the public, we do need to make sure that the use of the trail for events is consistent and provides for the safety and enjoyment of all trail users. Events listed to the right have been approved by our board, and those below are organized by the Wabash Trace. If you are interested in holding an event on the Wabash Trace, please email wabashtracenaturetrail@gmail.com.

Wabash Trace/Admiral Trail/KMA Live Radio Show
Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 - The Waterfalls in Farragut, Iowa
1 to 4 PM - Free to attend, listen and watch some of the area's best musicians at The Waterfalls in Farragut with a cash bar. Proceeds will be split between the Farragut Admiral Trail and the Wabash Trace.

Load trailer & carpool at the Depot in Shen starting at 8, Leave at 9, Ride starts at Classic Cafe in Malvern at 10 AM.

Wabash Marathon, Half Marathon, & Marathon Relay
Saturday, September 13th, 2025 - Shenandoah & Imogene
This Boston-Qualifying Full Marathon and Relay route goes from Shenandoah to north of Imogene and back on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail. The Half Marathon goes from Imogene to Shenandoah.

Haunted Hayrack Ride
Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 - Mineola
Join us for the 5th year doing this spooky trip on the trail, meeting at Tobey Jack's in Mineola.
Haunted Hayrack Ride
Friday, October 24th & Saturday, October 25th, 2025 - Shenandoah
This event going back to the late 1980s/early 1990s was revived by the Essex Jr. High Boosters as a fundraiser. The hayrack rides start at the Cemetery Trailhead in Shenandoah.
